Bigg Boss 13 Review: The first episode of Bigg Boss 13 was entertaining, glamorous and promised a fun ride for fans. Here's our review of the first episode of Salman Khan's reality show.
Bigg Boss season 13's grand premiere was the most awaited one and it went on air, a few hours back. The host of the show, Salman Khan revealed all the 13 contestants of the new season and many more interesting deets. For the unversed, celebs such as Sidharth Shukla, Asim Riaz, Abu Malik, Paras Chhabra, Siddharth Dey, Devoleena Bhatacharjee, Shehnaaz Gill, Shefali Bagga, Mahira Sharma, Arti Singh, Dalljiet Singh, Rashami Desai and Koena Mitra will be locked inside the house for 15 weeks.
Salman promised a lot of twists and tedha pan and Bigg Boss fans and viewers are anticipating the same, however, with duties and partners already assigned and also the BFF (bed friends forever) given already, the potential of more fights, controversies and groupism can be lesser it seems. Also, this approach, kind of, made the show appeared that a lot of things are planned which audience may not like, as the show, we know, has been frivolous in nature and not very serious.
The all celeb concept was debatable one, as many thought that commoners presence made audience relate to the show more, however, I feel that all celeb concept may not backfire the new season as we all know the show started off with all-celeb concept and later on, commoners were added.
And this new season Bigg Boss 13 has interesting mix of celebs from both Bollywood and TV which may help TRP raise or not decline it seems.
Coming to weaklings and interesting contestants, I found Shefali Bagga as one of the weak contestants as she hardly spoke during her introduction part and all the limelight was on Shehnaaz Gill as she entered on stage soon after Bagga's name was announced. Also, we hardly saw more footage of hers. Another weakling, as per my opinion is Koena as she too hardly gave views and opinions, however, only time will tell who will fare well. Asim, Mahira, Shehnaaz, Devoleena and Rashami Desai turned out to be interesting ones on the first day itself.
The makers, as we saw, have incorporated many major changes and one of them we saw was of girls having more power this time, also there are 8 women contestants and 5 males one and females were asked to enter the home first. Later, we also that Bigg Boss revealed that along with girl power they will also balance out in some way so there is no gender bias and I think, gender equality should be followed inside the house.
Ameesha Patel's role as Bigg Boss 13 guest who keep entering house often to spice things up, seems a good addition as makers can anytime spruce up things if they find show getting bored at any point or when they find contestants going all berserk (as the house makes contestants go out of control often). She can easily enter the house when the makers want to either handle or tackle situations and of course to make it juicier.
Moving to finale Episode and the confusion surrounding it, Salman firstly cleared the air of 4 week finale concept and we got to know that celebs will be selected for finale within 4 weeks but still they have to stay for 15 months and everything will be super fast, this ensures that we will not be bored for a minute.
