Deepika Padukone
makes a striking entry with the song 'Deewani
Mastani' of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Bajirao Mastani. Even though it could be said that in a
Bhansali film, Deepika still manages to completely clutch the audience
attention from the seconds she performs on screen. 'Deewani Mastani' is the
very first song of the movie to be released.
But that's not all. This attracted actress has said in a PTI report that this song is the majestic thing about the film, and is kind of an ode to the song from the melody film Mughal-e-Azam, 'Jab Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya', in which Anarkali willingly declares her affection for Salim.
"The song is motivated by Mughal-E-Azam. We have tried to restructure the Sheesh Mahal (mirror palace). But it is also Bhansali's modern-day variety of a song, where Mastani is completely infatuated by Bajirao and is deeply in love with him," said Padukone at the song's launch in Delhi.

In
this song, Deepika takes entry in a large crowd and sings straight to Bajirao
(Ranveer Singh). Deewani Mastani has a sufi-part Maharashtrian sound, where
Deepika is dancing with complete relinquish and Ranveer singh as bajirao looking
every moment like a king, watches her in complete fascination.
